Burning The Candle At Both Ends

Firstly my apologies for not blogging for so long.  I have had a really bad cold for the past couple of weeks, and have not been up to much at all, infact I have spent most my time in bed resting.  Looking forward though I am back on track and hoping to be posting plenty entries.

I have had a rather busy weekend burning the candle at both ends, almost quite literally.

I have bought some lovely small cups from a local charity shop, and with some left over wax and wicks planned on turning them into candles.

I melted down the wax, once melted I poured into the cup and then put the wick into the centre of the cup, submerged by the wax.

I was very pleased with the overall outcome, and they look lovely when lit.

To finish off a good weekend I have just enjoyed an evening with the ladies from my book club discussing our last book, The Various Flavours Of Coffee by Anthony Capella.  A great conversation topic with a mix of opinions, which is always good.  The only downside is that I now have to wait another month before meeting with them to do it all again.

Gem xx
