Patchwork Quilting

You were probably wondering what the knitted squares were for, well I have been using the squares as part of my patchwork quilt I'm making.  This is a project I have been working on for ages.  I actually couldn't tell you when I started this, but it has been well over a year.  The past couple of months I have been spending more time on it and I'm aiming to get it finished by the end of the year, preferably in the next couple of months, but I'm not holding my breath.

As you can see, I still have a fair way to go, but I'm getting there.  It's a work in progress :)

I wanted a quilt with a bit of a difference, I didn't want it all to be made from the same fabrics, hence the knitted and fabric squares, although you can't really see them too clearly from these photos, you will just have to take my word for it.
I will be posting my progress as I go along, you never know, you may even get the opportunity to meet that trusted sewing machine of mine.  What can I say I'd be lost without it and I dread to think how long it would take if I were doing it all by hand.

Hope you all having a lovely weekend

Gem xx
