Recycling Christmas Cards

I'm using Christmas cards as my example here, but this can be done using any type of card.

So, the occasion has passed and you are left with a mountain of cards that have been received from loved ones.  If your like me there will be the odd ones that you will keep but the rest end up going into the bin, but what if they had another use?

Well, how about making your very own gift tags!

My mum purchased this tag shaped cutter a few years ago, which she kindly let me borrow, it is perfect for using to create your own little tags using card.  Simply work out which part of the card you want to be shown on the tag, slot it in and press down the lever.

Next you will need to create a little hole to thread your string through, I've used a small hole puncher but I guess you could use a pen or a pair of scissors although the hole may not be so neat.  Thread your string or ribbon through the hole and there you have it, your very own gift tags.

A great way to recycle all of those cards plus it saves you having to go out buying tags.

Of course it doesn't just have to be cards.  You could use whatever you liked really.  I've seen across Pinterest the use of photos which I love, a really nice finishing touch to those gifts and something very personal too, as well as plain kraft card which has then been decorated using buttons, pens and felt.

Pretty gift wrapping doesn't just fall down to the paper you use, the little details such as the tag are just as important.

Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. I hate wasting things, I'm such a hoarder too which doesn't help. I always find myself looking at things and asking myself what I could use it for or make with it, it drives my husband mad x x
