World Book Night Giveaway

'World Book Night is an annual celebration of reading books that takes place on 23rd April.  It sees passionate volunteers give out hundreds of thousands of books in their communities to share their love of reading with people who don't read regularly or own books.  World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers to help give them an equal chance in life.'

I know I've said this a thousand times, but I really do love books.  Last year I signed up to be a volunteer book giver for World Book Night.  I handed out a few books at work, the rest I took to our local homeless shelter.  It felt so great being able to give something to those who may not read all that often, being able to share a passion of my own with others.  As soon as registration opened for 2016, I filled in my application once more and was pleased to be selected for a second year running.

Personally I wasn't as thrilled with the book choices this year, but even still it's an opportunity to spread a little bit of literacy love, which is what I intend to do.  My books have been collected and I'm ready for World Book Night on he 23rd April.

So with that in mind, I shall be hosting a few giveaways for you to win a copy of my chosen book 'A Baby At The Beach Cafe by Lucy Diamond'.  The first of the giveaways is here on the blog, the others will be on my social media channels, so keep watch on those for a chance of getting your hands on one of the books.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning a copy here is leave me a comment on this post, telling me why you would like to read more books.

I will select and announce a winner next Friday the 22nd April.  Please feel free to spread the word.  Good luck.

  1. Hi Gem! I would like to read more books as there's a nice bench on the cliff at the end of my road overlooking the sea waiting for me to sit and read in the sun! What's more, that title seems very apt for my surroundins lol x

  3. Gem, I would love to have more time to read as it provides you with the opportunity to escape the everyday pressures we all face, even if it is for just a little while. Even better if a diet coke and slice of cake goes with it! X

  4. What a lovely thing to be involved in. I read a lot but I would really love to get myself off blogging so much and read more. I'd love to read more because I know I am happiest when I am reading-I am so immersed in another world that all becomes right again!xx

  5. I recently changed jobs. The new position doesn't require me to work evenings, weekends, or seven days a week, so I'm really enjoying my down time and enjoying reading again!
